Can the ceremony and reception have different themes?

So my wedding is in less than two months so I can’t totally change everything but I there are still some things I have not gotten yet. Basically the hotel I am having both the ceremony and reception at is pretty heavily themed. http://www.celebrationhotel.com/ The ceremony is in the Aviary room, which obviously is decorated with birds and the reception is in the Sabal room which is more tropical with palm trees and stuff. I am wondering if I should by trying to tie the two themes together more or if I should just keep it separate? I already have my bouquets and centerpieces coordinating (tropical flowers).
The thing is that they are actually not tropical birds. It is full of Audubon prints.
Yeah I never intended to have a ‘themed wedding’ but we both loved this venue and wanted our event to fit with it.

How about tying the two themes together by decorating the Sabal room with tropical birds like parrots and toucans?

Edit: I don’t think it matters that the audubon birds are not tropical. It’s not necessary to have the same or even similar themes for the ceremony and reception, so tropical birds is just a suggestion of how you could link the two rooms, if you wanted to link them.

They absolutely can have different themes if you want them to. There is no tradition or etiquette about this, and most people would hardly notice (especially since the decorating scheme of a room called the Aviary will likely include tropical birds like toucans and parakeets).

Edit to add: Parrots! Why did I think of parakeets?

You can do whatever you want. Typically, the ceremony doesn’t have a theme.

don’t think about the wedding being themed at all your just having a normal wedding in two fun locations. besides i’ve seen lots of wedding have no theme for the wedding and go all out for the reception so you should be fine beside it sounds like your wedding will have lots for all your guest to remember. ps that hotel looks like a beautiful place for a wedding.
