My mom wants to cut down the Mexican Fan Palms we have in our backyard. Will they regrow? Or will they die?

Mexican Fan Palms?
January 4th, 2010 Jeff I want to plant a Mexican fan palm around the perimeter of my pool deck , probably will be around 6-7 feet away from the kool deck area. Should I worry about the roots growing outward below and pulling up the decking, I know years down the road those palms get pretty big and tall.
How old does this Mexican Fan Palm look?

I do not live there i live in Columbus,MS zone 8A just wondering, because iam going to purchase one.
We are both in a Subtropical Wet zone 8a.
