Hi, PERSONAL owmer future of a palm tree acai (growth from the seeds of the fruit). as the palm matures (3-5 years), I'd be able to know how to use my harvest for my enjoyment (eating:) I just wanted to know if anyone knew some of the traditional ways of preparing Tigel na Acai (acai in the bowl) directly from the trees. Right? Andrew
Apparently hand. "Acai berries are first soaked in water to soften its hard outer layer. Each fruit is squeezed and then tried to get rid of the seeds, leaving a, oily, creamy liquid. "What is mixed with other foodstuffs in accordance to local interests. Don C

In March, 1891, I visited this collection and made such notes as seemed necessary for use in the field, and in June, accompanied by Mr. W. H. Evans and Mr. G. C. Nealley, I began field work in the neighborhood of El Paso, Tex. After ten days of exploration it was necessary for me to leave the field work in charge of Mr. Evans, who, with Mr. Nealley, continued work westward, during July and a part ...
In interior Alaska, the forests at this time of year showed that some types of trees thrive here. The forests contain only a handful of families, white spruce, Black Pine, poplar, birch, willow, larch with even or over-grown alder providing little variety. There was a bit of research on why so few kinds of trees grow naturally in Alaska.
the extreme cold of winter easily eliminated resistant tree species elsewhere. Oak, ash and elm withstand occasional cold temperatures in the forty-eight states, as they can produce chemicals that serve as natural antifreeze. Therefore, the fluids in their cells stay liquid up to forty, then the temperature bitter which is the same in both Fahrenheit and Celsius scales. However, at lower temperatures to freeze the sap, growing, crystallization and rupture of the cells that contain them. Therefore, any interior typical winter kill trees that are based antifreeze to survive alone in deep cold.
The trees resistant based on physics rather than chemistry for the winter. When the cold season begins to reach black or white fir, for example, the sap from the leaves living cells and results in the intercellular spaces. There, the ice crystals can be formed without damaging anything vital to the survival tree.
Conditions underfoot question, too. Few trees can sprout seeds in damp and cold of muskeg, chilled natural wetlands common land lower portions of the far north. Tamarack and black spruce are among the few species that can sprout and grow on this ground without compromise. Then, too, trees living in the north end first had to get here. It was not that long ago, compared with the life of a species, that Alaska was covered in ice at the edges and too dry for tree growth much in the middle.
White spruce, on the other hand, ran to the north, 10 times faster in the Arctic West, where they could live in the raw mineral soil, the first class in the open when the ice broke. Its small winged seeds traveled splendidly in the winds remove the Laurentide ice decline that had occupied the center of North America.
Summer temperatures are also important to determine what kind of where the trees grow, one reason why the Aleutian mild winters are not forests. After the ice sheets withdrew from what is now is New England, fir soon covered the land. During a span of 500 years, the average July temperature increased by about two degrees Celsius, and pine trees replaced firs.
Nature is not being provided to the forests of Alaska. Slowly but surely the pines seem to be moving north and west across the Yukon. Jack pine and lodgepole pine can handle any winter temperature in Alaska has to offer, but need a little more heat in the summer to establish the seeds of fir do. Therefore, so far, individual pines can survive if people plant in Alaska. but have not been established and raised families here.
However, pine species have run our way, in a couple of hundred meters a year, during the last 12,000 years. They have adapted and evolved as they have, so even without induced man-made climate warming, should be along shortly.
It is even more important to consider the hardiness of trees and shrubs is with herbaceous perennials. On the One Hand, they do not die on the ground in winter. Whatever happens in the cold months, they have to deal with it. In addition, they take longer to mature. Who wants to wait five years for the first flowering of a tree, only to see him die before winter would have been spectacular? And these plants are more expensive, so if you bet there is more at risk.
As one becomes more familiar with the appearance of trees in winter, the number that can be recognized at a distance becomes much greater. We have come to know through the trees just defined traits as much as we recognize our friends at a distance some peculiarity of the shape or motion. Look at the trees from a distance is a great help in acquiring this familiarity with the characters of the trees. The method branching and other features not wish to furnish precise markings such as branches, and can not be of much value in a descriptive key. In fact the habit varies considerably among the trees of the same species, no two trees are exactly the same method of branching.
Trees grown in the forest in the company of other trees are affected by shading of part of its normal development and produce tall trunks with only a little branching. In the trees on the other hand, apart from other trees are usually planted for ornamental or cultivated in forests that originally, but have been isolated by cutting its neighbors. In the latter case the habit may be more or less that of a cultivated forest tree depending on the age at which the conditions of light and shadow altered. In the first case, the upper part of the young tree may have been cut in the transplant process, causing an increase in branching at the point of cutting and the tips bottom may have been cut, giving a greater show of trunk.
These mutilations, however, have less influence on the shape of the head or crown that can be imagined as the tree is generally able to accommodate this type of accidents and express their individuality in spite of them. The shape of the tree age is also an important factor in the scheme, the juveniles that are generally narrower and more conical than in later life, whereas in the elderly may have lost through storms, high winds and attacks by fungi.

have 28 gal tall reef tank with 1*65 watt light and my corals are frogspawn, tree coral, palm xenia, leather coral, star polyps, 2 shrums, and a few different zoa’s. The upgrade would be from a 1*65 watt power compact to a 2*65 watt power compact light. Also i have had this frogspawn for about 8 months and hasnt grown much at all also i feed the coral sometimes but would my frogspawn probally grow if i upgrade to the stronger light
this is the light that i have 24 inch 1×65 Watt Current USA the one i want to upgrade to is 24 inch 2×65 Watt Current USA PowerCompact Dual Satellite Fixture
Ok i would upgrade it. the 65 watts only gives you a little over 2 watts per gallon. the 2 65 would give you almost 5 watts. what kind of lighting is this? i would upgrade. this would also allow you to buy more coral and cause your coral to grow more.
