Arizona Palm Tree

I want to plant a Mexican fan palm around the perimeter of my pool deck , probably will be around 6-7 feet away from the kool deck area. Should I worry about the roots growing outward below and pulling up the decking, I know years down the road those palms get pretty big and tall.
